Special Services

  • Earth Day Shuttle Service - Saturday, April 20th from 10 AM to 2 PM Catch a free shuttle Saturday April 20th at the Justice Center bus stop on Central Ave (across the Library) to get to the Earth Day Festival at the Nature Center. Buses will circulate from the Justice Center to the Nature Center. Hope to see you there!

     

Service Alert

  • Route 2M Service Suspended Until Further Notice - Beginning Thursday, February 8th: Route 2M service is suspended until further notice due to staffing shortages. Please use Route 2T during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Service Changes

  • Early Morning Dial-a-Ride Service Starts - Beginning Monday, October 23rdAs part of the implementation of our recently updated 5-year transit plan recommendations, we will be adding early morning Dial-a-Ride service from 5:15 AM to 6 AM, in addition to the evening service already operating from 6:30 PM to 9 PM. We will accept only same-day service requests beginning at 5 AM for the morning service, and as usual beginning at 6 PM for the evening service.
  • Range Road Bus Stop Becomes On-Demand Only - Beginning Monday, November 6th: As part of the implementation of our recently updated 5-year transit plan recommendations, the Range Road bus stop will become on-demand only. Call us at 661-RIDE(7433) to request a pickup, or let your driver know you would like to be let off at this stop.

  • Route 2P Discontinued - Beginning Monday, October 30th: As part of the implementation of our recently updated 5-year transit plan recommendations, Route 2P (White Rock Peak Service) will be permanently discontinued. This route has not been in service for several years.

     

Service Reductions Due to Staffing Shortages

Due to staffing shortages, some of our services have been reduced. We are actively recruiting drivers, and will resume services when we have staff available. Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause our riders.

  • Route 3 Central / Canyon is suspended November 17, 2022 until further notice. Service to Entrada Dr (bus stops #570 at Entrada Dr & Camino Entrada, and #571 Entrada & Camino Entrada) will be serviced by Route 1 Downtown Circulator every 30 minutes (no need to call for pickup.) 

    Additionally, the Route 1 bus stop #405 at the LAC Airport will pick up on-demand during the Rt 3 cancellation – call our administrative office (505) 661-7433 to request pick-up at the Airport. 
  • Route 6 PM Peak Service Resumes (AM Peak service Remains Suspended) - Beginning Monday, October 30th: Afternoon Peak service on Route 6 will resume! PM Peak service provides 30-minute service on Rt 6, and operates from 3:05 PM to 6:21 PM. On our Routes & Schedules page, the PM Peak service times are highlighted on the timetables in yellow. Our ACTracker app will not show this PM peak service for 2-3 weeks.
  • Route 2M Service Suspended Until Further Notice - Beginning Thursday, February 8thRoute 2M service is suspended until further notice due to staffing shortages. Please use Route 2T during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

ACT is Free

There are NO FARES on any service operated by Atomic City Transit.

The Incorporated County of Los Alamos has opted to invest Federal transit grant funds and Transit Gross Receipts Tax dollars that are returned to the County, as well as local General Fund dollars, to bring this service to you.

The next time you see one of your County Councilors, be sure to thank him or her for this support for public transportation and contribution to the quality of life in our community!
